Erwin Brothers Entertainment and Kevin Downes Productions, in association with the Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO), are pleased to announce the start of principal photography on the feature film “I Can Only Imagine” in Oklahoma. The film is utilizing the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program administered by OF+MO, and will commence principal photography in Oklahoma on November 30, 2016.
“We are thrilled to be filming in the state of Oklahoma,” said Producer Kevin Downes. “With its long sunsets and unique landscapes coupled with the experience of Oklahoma film crews, we believe ‘I Can Only Imagine’ will show off the beauty of this state.”
The film will be directed by brothers Jon and Andrew Erwin, whose previous credits include hit films such as “October Baby”, “Moms’ Night Out”, and “Woodlawn”. Daryl Lefever and Cindy Bond are producing the film alongside co-producers Josh Walsh and Joe Knopp and executive producers Travis Mann, Simon Swart and Scott Brickell.
Written by Jon Erwin and Brent McCorkle, “I Can Only Imagine” tells the story behind the iconic multi-platinum song of the same name which found an audience with both pop and Christian fans everywhere, selling millions of copies worldwide and reaching the top of the Billboard Top 200 singles chart. Based on the true story of lead singer Bart Millard and the band MercyMe, this film seeks to inspire audiences everywhere with its authentic portrait of faith, love and family.
