Colin Warde started his film career deciding his place was in the crew. While taking classes at Oklahoma City Community College in 2005, he worked as a production assistant on “The Hunt” and several other movies. Later Warde took jobs in Los Angeles working on movies and television until a fortuitous meeting made him project manager of a multi-year auction of remaining “Star Trek” props, set dressing and costumes. Returning to Oklahoma and becoming a parent in 2009, he reacquainted himself with former student comrades to begin work as art department personnel eventually settling into props. Warde worked as a props assistant on “August: Osage County” in 2012, as a props master on “Rudderless” in 2013 and recently on “The Bygone” and “Thirteen Minutes”. He also worked as production designer on several features like “Hosea” and “Overexposed” in 2017 and “The Mustard Seed” in 2018.
“I think what inspires me most about Oklahoma is the recurring crew base I see on every job statewide,” said Warde. “I’ve known a lot of the people in this market since I started working and while I might not see them on every show, the relationships we developed is unlike any other market.”
In between films Warde works commercials and has gone out of state to Texas, West Virginia, and New York City. Warde is a member of IATSE Local 484, elected as the Oklahoma State Representative in 2018. He is an Eagle Scout and a black belt in Tae Kwan Do.
Next, Colin is working on a Kia Super Bowl commercial and is also a creator/contributor to TheMindfieldsComicsPodcast.
