Film Artist for November 2019: Caleb Holmes

Caleb Holmes has produced short films, music videos and commercials for the past three years. He is currently producing three different short films with plans to submit to film festivals, including Oklahoma’s 2020 deadCenter Film Festival. When he’s not working on feature productions, he films and archives the personal stories of military veterans, enabling them to share their experiences with family, friends, and future generations. Holmes also collaborates with local Oklahoma artists, producing projects with musicians, comedians and comic book artists, with the hopes of generating more jobs here in Oklahoma. He says, “I’m very passionate about film and art in general. If I can make a difference in bringing more work to Oklahoma, I’ll do it.”

Holmes graduated with a bachelor’s degree in film production from Oklahoma City University (OKCU). During college, he produced short films for students from Oklahoma City Community College and OKCU, and had the opportunity to work on Discovery Channel’s television show “Street Outlaws” throughout his junior and senior years. Upon graduating in May of 2019, Holmes continued working in reality TV, traveling with the show “Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings”.

In June, Holmes pursued an opportunity to work on the feature film “Golden Arm” as an accounting clerk. His experience gave him a crash course in film accounting with an ideal mentor, setting him up to pursue future accounting positions. “Golden Arm” also utilized the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program, laying a foundation for him to work with other incoming rebate productions, including “Birdie” on which he served as a PA earlier this summer.

Currently, Holmes is working as an accounting clerk on the Oklahoma rebate feature film “Thirteen Minutes” in El Reno, Oklahoma.
