Tower Theatre announces Live [Stream] from Ponyboy, a realtime broadcast from the Uptown 23rd Street bar featuring musical performances from Oklahoma artists. The event was created to support the local music community and to provide social connection in response to mass suspension of public gatherings, restaurants and bar service. The first performance will be live-streamed tonight, March 19.

The one hour shows will be broadcast live across Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Vimeo and Twitch at 8:00 p.m. thanks to Mostly Harmless Media. Streaming concerts will be closed to the public in keeping with CDC guidelines. The show will include a 45-minute performance and short interview with Chad Whitehead, Patchwork Presents Talent Buyer and Tower Theatre Operating Partner.
“This is a really challenging time for artists and the music industry,” said Whitehead. “Tower and Ponyboy will be back soon, but we wanted to do something creative that helps artists while we wait to reopen.”
“As soon as we saw this announcement, our team immediately responded to support Tower Theatre’s innovative efforts to live-stream music performances at a popular Oklahoma City venue,” said Oklahoma Film + Music Office Director, Tava Maloy Sofsky. “In times like these, we must focus on the positive and I am hopeful that our local talent will garner increased exposure through the multiple live-stream platforms, which may raise up new fans around the state, country and even world!”
