The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO) is proud to be a presenter of Scene Skeleton, a free weekly video series featuring conversations with experienced panelists from across the nation discussing strategies, best practices and other music industry topics, launching September 30. Created by Chad Whitehead, talent buyer for Tower Theatre, Ponyboy and Patchwork Presents, this series is designed to support local musicians as they navigate the music industry by giving them access to people with decades of experience.
Each episode will begin with a conversation before moving into an artist-submitted Q&A session. Topics include how to release an album, promoting a concert, managers/agents, branding and more.
“This is a difficult time for artists as the music industry has come to a complete standstill,” says Whitehead. “One response has been a greater openness to share resources, ideas and knowledge. Scene Skeleton will leverage this new cultivated openness with conversations valuable to our local artists and their musical pursuits.”
“Our people are our strongest asset and I believe our music industry professionals are some of the most talented, innovative and resilient Oklahomans I know,” said Director of OF+MO Tava Maloy Sofsky. “We all must do our part to protect Oklahoma’s music eco-system and we see Scene Skeleton as a valuable resource in critical times like these.”
Scene Skeleton kicks off Wednesday, September 30, with “What Do Agents Do?” featuring Susie Giang, Ground Control Touring, and Jonathan Knight, Atomic Music Group.
Bands and artists can register via Tower Theatre’s website to gain free access to the live chats and submit questions. To keep conversations clear and focused, these videos will not be posted on social media.
