Oklahoma Music to be Featured at AmericanaFest in Nashville

The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO) and Studio Oklahoma are proud to partner with the Americana Music Association at the 19th annual Americana Music Festival & Conference (AmericanaFest) in Nashville, Tennessee, September 11-16, 2018.

Gathering thousands of artists, fans and industry professionals from all over the world, the 2018 AmericanaFest will feature seminars, discussion panels and networking events in conjunction with more than 500 live performances at almost 60 of Nashville’s most prominent venues over the course of six days. Taking place at the historic Ryman Auditorium September 12, the festival’s marquee event, the Americana Honors & Awards Show, will be nationally televised and will feature performances by genre-leading talent.

For the third year in a row, Studio Oklahoma, a collective of Oklahoma industry partners, will participate in several Oklahoma-centric events throughout the week. OF+MO and Studio Oklahoma will host “The Okie Roundup”, a private event open to conference registrants, wristband holders and private guests on Thursday, September 13, at Ole Red Nashville, Blake Shelton’s newest venue, with featured performances by renowned Oklahoma artists the Red Dirt Rangers and Kaitlin Butts. This event will welcome Nashville music industry delegates and music fans, including those with Oklahoma ties, to network with guests as OF+MO showcases Oklahoma’s remarkable sound and allow attendees the opportunity to discover why Oklahoma is a central hub for music. Additionally, OF+MO will curate a Power Brunch that will bring together Nashville music industry representatives and Studio Oklahoma partners in an intimate setting for one-on-one networking.

“Nothing makes me more excited than getting an opportunity to speak about what is happening with the music businesses in Oklahoma,” said the CEP and Executive Director of The Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma Scott Booker, who will speak to guests at the Power Brunch. “The growth in this vital industry is almost easier for people outside looking into to Oklahoma than it sometimes is for us to see ourselves. Going to an event like Americanafest reminds me of all the great music and entrepreneurial talent that represent us constantly around the world.”

The Oklahoma Film + Music Office would like to thank our community partners for their support in making “The Okie Roundup” and this year’s Power Brunch possible, including Grand Casino Hotel & Resort, Avos’ Agency, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, Dunlap Codding, The Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma, Tower Theatre, Rhythm & Routes, Castle Row Studios and Freestyle Creative.
