Prairie Surf Media (PSM) is proud to present their first-ever summer film course series at the newly renovated Prairie Surf Studios in downtown Oklahoma City. PSM is kick starting the summer with a four-week Screenwriting class and a one-day Pathways panel. Both events will feature elite guest speakers and will be hosted by the team at Prairie Surf Media.

SCREENWRITING 101 will be a four week simulated writers’ room for those interested in storytelling. Taught by two-time Emmy-nominated filmmaker and Prairie Surf Co-CEO Matt Payne, whose writing credits include “Defenders”, “Memphis Beat”, and “Vegas”, the course will walk participants through the writers’ room experience. Students will learn how to come up with ideas of others as well as how to craft a story from outline to final draft. Sessions will be at Prairie Surf Studios on Tuesdays 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., running July 13 through August 3, 2021. The cost is $365 for students and $520 for non-students.
PATHWAYS: AN INTRODUCTION TO OKLAHOMA FILM will be an afternoon for writers, directors, actors and anyone who wants to work in film. Join Prairie Surf Media Co-Founders and Co-CEOs Matt Payne and Rachel Cannon, CSA Casting Director Chris Freihofer, Emmy-nominated Disney+ Producer and Director Austin Taylor and more esteemed industry professionals for a panel focused on creative and technical career paths into film. This panel will feature a live Q&A session, breakout sessions with the panelists and a Surf Club mixer for networking with other event participants. This event will take place July 17 at 1:30 p.m. The cost is $99 for general admission.
