The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO) is proud to sponsor the 22nd annual Woody Guthrie Folk Festival (WoodyFest) in Woody’s hometown of Okemah, Oklahoma, July 10-14. This four-day event will feature over 100 performing artists on five stages along with several family-friendly events throughout the weekend in honor of the late folk hero.
The 2019 festival will host an all-star lineup including Guthrie family members along with Oklahoma musicians John Fullbright, Count TuTu, Jacob Tovar, Levi Parham, Red Dirt Rangers and Randy Crouch, among many others.
Songwriters and aspiring songwriters are invited to attend the fourth annual WoodyFest Songwriting Workshop, presented by OF+MO and hosted by Ellis Paul, a veteran WoodyFest performer and seasoned singer/songwriter and folk musician. The workshop will take place at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, located at 202 N. 3rd St., from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13. Registration is $50 at the door and is limited to 25 students.

In addition to honoring the folk legend in music, the festival will continue the traditions of poetry, community outreach, children and youth activities, songwriting workshops, and free educational events.
