Based in Oklahoma City, Boiling Point Media specializes in post-production services with an emphasis on visual effects and animation.
Can you tell us how and why you started your business?
Boiling Point Media, LLC, was established in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 2008 as a traditional media and production company. Over the years, the production side grew and film production was developed in 2012 with Ryan Bellgardt’s first feature length film, “Army of Frankensteins”. From there, Boiling Point Media has produced over a dozen films in Oklahoma and specializes in computer generated imagery (CGI) and animation.
What services do you provide within the film/music industry?
Boiling Point Media specializes in post production with a special feature in Visual Effects, CGI characters, environments and animation. Boiling Point Media has a Virtual Production Studio and has produced three films in 2021 with the new technology of Virtual Production and Unreal Engine.
How has your company grown to meet the needs of Oklahoma’s film and/or music industries over the last 3-5 years?
Boiling Point has been an industry leader in Oklahoma Film and has grown by implementing the latest software, technology and invested in individuals who want to be a part of Post Production specifically in Visual Effects and Animation.
What are the benefits of basing your company’s operations in Oklahoma?
The people. Oklahoman’s are unlike any other. Kind, friendly and open to work – to new opportunities – that’s Oklahoma. Oklahoma’s state motto, “Labor Omnia Vincit” – Labor conquers all things, rings true. We have people in Oklahoma and moving to Oklahoma that respect the state and the state’s initiatives to bring film here. As the rebate grows and develops, we welcome all opportunities for the state and plan to continue to be a staple leader for Post and VFX.
What would you consider your business’s greatest accomplishment to date?
Boiling Point Media has been hugely successful in a variety of ways, but likely the largest accomplishment was one of our films being released several times on Disney XD, “The Adventures of Jurassic Pet”. From that success, we are creating Oklahoma’s first sequel feature length film, “The Adventures of Jurassic Pet: Chapter 2”.
Are there any recent successes your company would like to highlight related to work within the Oklahoma film and music industries?
All of our films have been produced in Oklahoma and we hired Oklahoma cast, crew and post production. Overall, our movies reach a very wide audience with worldwide releases and include in theater releases, direct to TV, Redbox, and in-app purchases, such as Amazon.
Some unique release notes on some of our films include:
- “The Adventures of Rufus” airs frequently in France and still shows in theaters.
- “Jurassic Games” was highly successful in Europe, Asian and Mexican Markets and is often on TV or in theaters.
- “Gremlin” was #7 in the Malaysian box office and highly successful in the Philippines as well.
- “Army of Frankensteins” is aired frequently on national syndication networks, such as Comet, as recent as 10/16/2021.
What are you working on now/next?
We typically work on three to six projects at a time, whether that be our own production or post-production for our film friends in Oklahoma and nationally.
Currently, we are working on six projects set to be released in 2022 that includes:
- “Ghoster”, Director, Visual Effects & Animation, Color
- “Guardians of Time”, Visual Effects, Animation
- “The Squad”, Visual Effects & Animation, Prop Manipulation
- “Hunting Jessica”, Visual Effects & Animation
- “Seduction and Snacks”, Visual Effects
- “Seven Cemeteries”, Color & Delivery
Also upcoming, is the filming and production of “The Adventures of Jurassic Pet: Chapter 2” set to film in December of 2021 with the main locations being filmed in El Reno.
What is your goal/vision for the future of your company?
Overall, the vision of both Ryan Bellgardt, Partner and Director, and Emily Taylor, Partner and COO, is to grow the Post Production industry with specializations in VFX and Animation in the likeness of Disney or Weta Workshop.
What advice do you have for others who are considering starting a film or music business in Oklahoma?
In our industry specifically, we have and require a heavy emphasis on experience. If you are interested in Post House work, focus on the areas you love and learn the skill set. Watch videos, play and educate yourself on products and software that will help you finesse your skills.

What opportunities do you believe await Oklahoma’s film/music industry in the future?
There are several opportunities to be had. Each institute for educating and developing future film careers will only help Oklahoma grow to be more successful and diverse in skill sets – and continue to bring in films of all shapes and sizes to the state. We can’t wait to see continued growth in this industry.
