Scott Long, CPA, joined DP Financial & Tax, Inc. (DPFT) in 2010. Long started serving the film industry in Oklahoma in 2011 when one of DPFT’s clients was producing a movie in Oklahoma and needed the third-party agreed-upon procedure engagement required by the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program. After completing the CPA approvals required by the Oklahoma Film + Music Office, Long completed that first engagement in July 2011. Since then, he has completed 37 engagements resulting in more than $25 million in rebate money being paid to the various productions. There are several other engagements in the works for 2019.
DP Financial & Tax, Inc. is a full-service accounting, tax and financial planning firm based in Oklahoma. When he is not working on a rebate engagement, Long is a tax manager who prepares tax returns and consults with individual, business and non-profit clients.
“Working with the Oklahoma Film + Music Office and the various production companies has been very rewarding.” Long said. “I have most enjoyed working with producers and filmmakers who have made a film in Oklahoma and then come back to the state to make others. It really shows the film community in Oklahoma has a lot to offer. I also hope I can impress my kids with my movie work!”
